LONDON – Prominent music promoter Nathan Van Dweeben has just announced a worldwide EDM set will be played through Skype in over 80 cities simultaneously. He has enlisted the help of a 14-year-old English boy, Robbie, as the solo act. What makes this event so different? Nathan’s approach might change the EDM scene forever.
“So, mate. This is what I’m gonna do. I rented out every major venue across the globe: ‘Headache’ in Vegas, ‘Classless’ in Ibiza, ‘The Shrill’ in New York, and London’s very own ‘Epilepsy.’ I will market all major DJs for each venue, making people think that Tiesto will be in Vegas and Armin Van Buuren will be in Ibiza. But instead, Robbie will be using his cute Garageband software to make up tracks and play them.”
Van Dweeben’s candor is surprising, considering he tends to commit fraud. “No one cares,” he said. “Everyone all sounds the same, so it doesn’t make a difference who shows up. I’ve been doing this for 15 years, mate. The music hasn’t changed one bit.”
Tiesto commented, “Van Dweeben is getting everyone’s name out there. EDM is such a community that when one artist blows up, we all profit. All of us couldn’t survive, like the Beatles, coming up with original stuff.”
And the lucky 14-year-old Londoner couldn’t be more thrilled. “I’ve been able to replicate every major artist’s sound and posting it to the web. Now, I can finally use my talents and be recognized.”
The big event is set for August 15th at 8pm EST. The Saturday date is intended to accommodate international attendees.
One Danish EDM enthusiast, Tony, is excited to be part of this mass international endeavor. Tony said, “I can’t wait for this thing. Everyone knows EDM is about the music.” Tony winked and swallowed a pill, adding, “For my back pain.”
