Yes. I’m sick of these “life hacks” as well. The problem with that attitude is that there is something to hack, something to get around, something to cheat. Life hacking is cheating. I find it funny how this desire-for-ultimate-productivity takes the fun out of being productive.
“Okay, asshole. Now tell me me what I have to do in order to be productive.” I’m right there with you. I’ll skip the obligatory paragraph that explains why you seemingly can’t do something… yada yada. So here it is:
Journal as you produce. While you have one window of your project, have a Word doc open where you journal, stream of consciousness, everything on your mind. You jump back and forth between the two. You never look up something online. You don’t take any YouTube breaks. You simply jump between the two. As you do this, you spend more time on-task, writing, and committed to the headspace of what you want to accomplish.
